After a storm, severe wind, or a fallen tree damages your roof, the last thing you’ll probably want to do is go through the roofing insurance claims process. It can be confusing and frustrating to file roofing insurance claims, especially after your home has just been seriously harmed. Fortunately, you don’t need to tackle this process by yourself.
At Alpha One Restoration, we are deeply familiar with the roofing insurance claims process, and we have plenty of experience working with various providers. We can help clarify your policy, document the damage on your roof, and even speak with your insurance provider on your behalf. Below, we’ll also go over the key steps you’ll take when filing your claim.
- Assess the damage. Without climbing up on your roof, look for missing or warped shingles, holes, or other signs of damage. You may also notice water stains on your ceiling indoors if your roof has been seriously damaged.
- Review your homeowner’s insurance policy. Before filing a claim, check your homeowner’s insurance policy to understand what is covered. Although most plans will cover damage caused by storms, trees and fallen debris, your out-of-pocket costs may vary.
- Contact a roofer. Before reaching out to the insurance provider, contact a roofer from our team to conduct a close assessment of your roof.
- File a claim. Our roofing professionals will document the damage to your roof and ensure that you can file a claim with plenty of evidence to back it up.
- Meet with the insurance adjuster. Before the insurance provider approves the claim, they’ll send an adjuster to inspect your roof as well.
- Receive your claim approval and estimate. After the adjuster completes their inspection, your insurance provider will send you a claim estimate detailing how much they’ll cover.
- Hire a roofing contractor for repairs. Finally, our team can restore your roof to its original condition.
